About this opportunity
About the training
The African Development Bank and the UNDP AI Hub for Sustainable Development are partnering with Google and Apolitical to provide free artificial intelligence training for public-sector officials. The initiative is part of Apolitical's Government AI Campus and is intended to help public servants understand AI, apply it responsibly and improve public-service delivery.
What selected applicants receive
Selected applicants receive access to a curated set of seven online courses. The curriculum covers AI's impact on government, AI fundamentals and risks, prompt engineering, AI leadership, responsible procurement, AI in healthcare systems, and the relationship between AI and climate action.
The courses are fully online and self-paced, with no mandatory live sessions or fixed timetable. Most courses take approximately two to three hours to complete. Learners can pause and resume their work, and progress is saved automatically. The official source does not advertise a stipend, cash award or travel support.
Who the programme is for
The official call is open to current government officials and public servants working on appropriate AI implementation in their countries, including public services, private-sector partnerships and innovation. The introductory course does not require prior technical knowledge, while other modules are tailored to practitioners and leaders working in relevant areas.
How to apply
The online application asks for a personal email address, government email address, country, public-sector entity or department, job role and the skills the applicant hopes to develop. Applicants must also agree to the programme's data-sharing and privacy terms. The form is used to assess applications and enrol selected participants on the Government AI Campus.
Applications close on 30 September 2026. The organiser has not stated a closing time or timezone, so applicants should submit as early as possible.
Who should consider it
