Overview
The Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge supports young founders whose active projects or startups are already delivering measurable social or environmental impact. The 2026 challenge was open globally, including to eligible African founders.
What participants could receive
The programme offered multiple grant awards of up to US$15,000, free application and founder-learning resources, access to a global community of young social leaders and further opportunities such as paid work, fellowships, networking and learning experiences.

The 2026 submissions are closed. The recorded deadline was 31 August 2026.
Who should consider it
The lead founder had to be aged 18 to 30 and hold genuine decision-making authority. The project or startup had to be youth-led, already operating, delivering measurable social or environmental results and contributing to at least one United Nations Sustainable Development Goal.
