About this opportunity

A two-day competition on 3–4 October 2026 to build practical, use-case-driven AI solutions that work under limited connectivity and with accessible devices such as basic phones, sensors, or microcontrollers. Entrants choose an agriculture, health, or tourism challenge. Three winners—one per sector—receive fully covered travel and accommodation to present at the Global AI and Digital Summit in Seoul on 21 October 2026, with possible facilitated meetings with investors and other stakeholders.

Who should consider it

Open to applicants aged 18–35 across World Bank member countries; emerging-economy applicants are strongly encouraged. Individuals or teams of up to four may apply. Every team member must register individually, meet eligibility requirements, and submit in English. Active World Bank Group staff, consultants, and interns are not eligible. Accepted participants must submit their Small AI solution during the 3–4 October hackathon window.
